About

Teams watch a sinister video from a masked representative of the Red Alert team. They are told that their computer systems have been hacked. The virus is capable of corrupting their systems and destroying their company and personal data forever.

Each team is presented with a crate and told they must solve every puzzle in the crate in order to quarantine the virus within 60 minutes. The video gives them clues to complete their quest. Time starts and the teams work through a series of six puzzles in six draws. Red Alert androids are on hand to give them clues but these come at a cost. After a team completes all six puzzles in their crate, a single digit of a code appears.

The video reminds them that all puzzles in all crates must be complete so they turn to help other teams. Once all puzzles are complete, teams take the code they have obtained from each crate to the central Red Alert sphere. They enter the code into the sphere, stopping the countdown and quarantining the virus.

Learning Outcomes

Red Alert is an enthralling experiential learning game that enhances teamwork and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging environment. The exciting theme and limited time frame ensures that everyone is engaged throughout the activity. Teams apply creative thinking skills and effective communication as they decide together on the best strategy to solve each puzzle. As the game progresses, team members learn to work better together. They come to appreciate each others abilities and realise that individually their talents matter to the effectiveness of the team as a whole. Team bonding grows as with the completion of the puzzle in each draw, they celebrate their success together.

They learn that there is a huge difference between looking and seeing. Teams gradually develop the ability to see a problem from more than one angle and apply innovative thinking to solve it. In the closing moments of the game, teams break from the silo mentality of completing their own puzzles as they collaborate to assist other teams for the benefit of the whole group.
